Start with the Declaration Requirements
Rummy is about making a valid hand, not keeping the most impressive individual cards. Understand the combinations below before practising your draws and discards. A paid table adds financial risk to the same sorting task.
Three Terms Used at the Table:
- A run of cards: Consecutive ranks in one suit form a sequence: 5♦, 6♦ and 7♦ are an example. The required pure sequence must be formed without a substituted joker.
- A matching-rank group: A set collects three or four equal ranks from different suits, such as K♥, K♠ and K♦.
- A substitute card: An eligible joker may fill a missing position in a set or permitted sequence; check the table rules.
