What the Opening Card Tells You

The Andar side The Bahar side This game follows a matching rank as the cards move between two piles. Watch the deal once to understand the sequence, then read the table-specific conditions before considering a stake.

Four Stages of an Andar Bahar Round

  • Find the reference rank: The exposed opening card sets the rank that later cards must match. It may be called the middle card or Joker.
  • Read the selection window: Before dealing continues, the available choices concern which side will receive a matching rank first. Confirm the payout conditions for each side.
  • Follow the alternating piles: New cards are placed one at a time on the two sides in the order specified by the table.
  • Identify the matching card: The first qualifying match decides the winning side. Past deals do not establish which pile will receive that match in another round.
